2018 Makeathon
Date: January 19 - 21, 2018
About
This year, we hosted over 35 participants, including Makers, Need Knowers, and Team Leads, at our 1st annual Makeathon. We had 7 teams working throughout the weekend to prototype solutions for their Need Knowers. The weekend culminated in a showcase where each team was able to present about the work they completed.

- A modified drone controller for Eli
- An adjustable outdoor and bathtub seat for Authur
- A control module adaptation for Amanda & Go Baby Go
- A wheelchair-mounted iPad holder for Jimmy
- A one-handed cutting and writing device for Zion
- An assistive key holder and a feeding tray for Zoe
Spring 2019 Makeathon
Date: January 18 - 20, 2019
About
This year, we hosted over 75 participants, including Makers, Need Knowers, and Team Leads, at our 2nd annual Makeathon. We had 10 teams working throughout the weekend to prototype solutions for their Need Knowers. The weekend culminated in a showcase where each team was able to present about the work they completed.

- A shoe tying adaptation for Kristi
- An iOS communication app (Pikit) for echolalia for Jesse and Alex
- A device to measure the viscosity of liquid to be swallowed for Maya
- An attachment point for a ventilator to a wheelchair for Adam
- A walker with a fold-down seat for Sara Grace
- A rugby wheelchair adaptation for Zion (returner from the 2018 Makeathon)
- An adaptation for tying trash bags for Zoe (returner from the 2018 Makeathon)
- An adapted guitar pick for Linden.
Fall 2019 Makeathon
Date: November 8 - 10, 2019
About
This year, we hosted over 100 participants, including Makers, Need Knowers, and Team Leads, at our 3rd annual Makeathon. We had 8 teams working throughout the weekend to prototype solutions for their Need Knowers. The weekend culminated in a showcase where each team was able to present about the work they completed.

- A waterproof casing for medical machines for Adam (returner from the Spring 2019 Makeathon)

- A tray holder for a reverse walker for Kristi (returner from the Spring 2019 Makeathon)
- An updated guitar pick for Linden (returner from the Spring 2019 Makeathon)
- An Xbox controller wheelchair attachment for Ivy
- An iOS app that interfaces with QR codes and RFID sensors for James
- A mini golf club attachment for Hugh

2021 Makeathon
Date: November 5 - 7, 2021
About
This year, we hosted over 70 participants, including Makers, Need Knowers, and Team Leads, at our 4th annual Makeathon. We had 9 teams working throughout the weekend to prototype solutions for their Need Knowers. The weekend culminated in a showcase where each team was able to present about the work they completed.

- A seatbelt buckle stabilizer for Harper
- A magnetic elevated desk for Makhaela
- An air pump-controlled feeding device for Hugh (returner from the Fall 2019 Makeathon)
- A poncho raincoat for use with a wheelchair or walker for Oluwatobi and Kristi (returner from the Fall 2019 Makeathon)
- A basket attachment for a reverse walker for Amelia
- A one-handed pentatonic flute adaptation for Lucy
- A shopping cart seat for Madeline
- A scooter-wheelchair hybrid device for Jack.
Both the air pump-controlled feeding device (4) and the one-handed flute adaptation (7) were continued into the 2022 Open Innovation Challenge.
